The Middle East Leadership Academy (MELA) is pleased to invite applications for its 2011 Leadership Conference. The development of future leaders with character, initiative, and strategic vision is one of the keys to enhancing cooperation, security, and prosperity in the Middle East region. To this end, MELA will invite 50 high-potential, mid-career professionals from the Arab countries of the Middle East to a ten-day leadership conference at the Dead Sea, Jordan, that will be intensive, challenging, and fun. The dates are Sunday 13 - Thursday 24 March 2011. The opening dinner is on 13 March, Sunday evening. The venue is the Movenpick Hotel, Dead Sea, Jordan.

Applicants must be between the ages of 32 and 48. They must be citizens of one of the following countries: Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Palestinian Territories, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, United Arab Emirates, or Yemen. The professional sectors targeted in 2011 are business, government, NGOs/ civil society.

The cost of the MELA 2011 Leadership Conference is Euro 4,500 (which includes tuition, food and accommodation at the Movenpick Hotel, Dead Sea). Those invited to attend are required to pay their own costs, either directly or through sponsorship, and will have to finance their own travel to and from the conference.
